You can find the best quality fuel gauges, sensor alarms and flanges when you browse our site. These items are necessary to ensure your generator continues to operate as it should.

Different gauges

A generator runs on fuel. Thus, being aware of how much fuel or oil is available means you can budget correctly and know exactly when the tank needs topping up. It is also beneficial to add a fuel gauge that combines a sensor alarm. In this way, you can conveniently be alerted when the level is low.

We offer a range of fuel gauges of different sizes, each ideal for your generator. These are available in different sizes and include optional flange mountings that are either a standard 6-hole flange or a welding flange. This means that the gauge can be fitted to just about any tank that is available today.

Furthermore, the gauge can be fitted with a sensor alarm, which alerts the operator when the liquid level is low. The gauges are also suitable for varying temperatures, such as between 45 degrees Celsius to 80 degrees Celsius.

Temperature Sensors

A range of temperature sensors is also available through our online store. A temperature sensor will alert the operator when the temperature is higher than what is required. It is manufactured from brass, and offers a protection rank of IP67. It provides a temperature response time of a minimum of 3 minutes after the power supply is electrified. In addition, the switch turns off when the temperature rises too high.

Pressure Sensors

We also offer pressure sensors, including the KE21107 Pressure Sensor range. The sensors are designed for measuring and monitoring the pressure of diesel, oil and other non-corrosive liquids. They offer excellent anti-vibration performance, longevity, ease of assembly, and a wide range of operating temperatures. Each has the protection ranking IP66.

Flanges

The welding flanges help to securely attach the mechanical gauge to the fuel tank. Further, we offer a 6-hole flange that can be screwed, rather than welded, onto a tank made from materials other than metal. The flange is made from an aluminium alloy which ensures its strength and corrosion resistance.

Your generator is one of your most useful and reliable investments. As with all investments, it is essential to look after it so that it keeps performing at its best. Maintaining your generator can be done, and following a Generator Maintenance Checklist will ensure that you don’t miss any vital steps.

Generator Maintenance Checklist:

Lubrication: the oil of your generator should be routinely checked using the dipstick. It is best to keep the oil level as near as possible to the full mark on the dipstick.

Both the oil and the filter should be changed at regular intervals. This should be done every 150 hours of running time.

Cooling system: the coolant level is another fluid that must be regularly checked. Some generators require a mixture of water, antifreeze and coolant additives. The radiator can be carefully cleaned of dirt and foreign particles by washing it out with low-pressure compressed air and water.

Fuel system: diesel can be subjected to both corrosion and contamination. It is advisable to use up any diesel before it degrades. In addition, the fuel filters must be regularly changed as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. Fuel should preferably be changed every three to six months.

Batteries: these are an important component of your generator. Without them, it will not start. Hence, the batteries should be routinely checked. They should also be kept clean. This can be done by wiping them down with a damp cloth when they appear to be excessively dirty.

Alternator and transfer switches: both of these components require a manual inspection to ensure they are performing as they should.

Regular Maintenance

Your generator ensures that your business continues running during a power outage. To ensure that it continues to work when it is needed, it is essential to perform routine maintenance as this will identify any faulty parts. It is also important for a monthly run for five or ten minutes to lubricate all the moving parts.

Preventative maintenance of your generator is definitely better than reactive maintenance. It is a good idea to conduct a regular maintenance check and ensure that any possible problems are seen to before they become too big – and costly – to handle.

If you need fuel gauges, sensor alarms or flanges, remember Generator Parts. We have the part you need, when you need it. The use of a generator is necessary in our world to keep our business operations running as they should. However, in order to ensure the full potential of the system you are using, you will also need to consider a number of parts. Keeping the generator properly fuelled is a necessity and the following parts are specially designed with economy, reliability and performance in mind.

Fuel Gauges

Without a fuel gauge, it can be difficult to determine exactly how much fuel is left in the tank. A fuel gauge ensures that you will know precisely how much fuel your generator has. These products are all of extremely high quality and are designed to last. You can choose from mechanical fuel gauges, with or without a sensor alarm. The mechanical fuel gauges allow for both level measurement and level display without the need for a power supply.

Sensor Alarms

this will alert you to a low level of fuel in your generator. You can choose from a large selection of sensors including single tube sensors or those that are included in the fuel gauge. A huge benefit of a sensor alarm is that the possibility of your generator running out of fuel is minimised. The sensors are manufactured using materials that prevent it from corroding, ensuring longevity and durability.

Flanges

Your generator needs a fuel tank. The fuel tank needs a mechanical gauge which is attached to the tank. It can be effectively done using the right flange. For your convenience, you can choose from a 6-hole standard flange, or the welding flange option. The standard 6-hole flange is available in metric or BSP sizes. Made from an aluminium alloy, it is strong and durable and is not susceptible to corrosion. The welding flange is typically used when the tank’s metal is sufficiently thick to allow for welding. While the flange is lightweight, it is extremely strong and once welded to the tank it will not separate easily.

Investing in these products ensures that your generator will operate smoothly and efficiently. There is no need for concern about minimal fuel with our flanges, sensor alarms and fuel gauges.

A generator is a combination of a fuel driven engine, usually diesel, with an electric generator or alternator. The diesel generator requires less maintenance due to its durability, reliability and sturdiness of character and is also normally cheaper to run due to the lower fuel cost. They can withstand heavy load for long hours and start off the supply on full load within minutes but they must be regularly maintained to ensure they are in good working order at all times. The best generator maintenance practice is following the maintenance schedule provided by the manufacturer of the machine.

How carry out maintenance on your generator

To begin with, a lubrication service is one of the most important maintenance practices. This must be done when the generator is shut down. Check the oil level using a dipstick and top it up using the recommended oil grade. The oil and filter should be regularly changed and this should be done every 150 hours of running time. The coolant level should be checked as often as the oil level. Some generators require a mixture of water, antifreeze and coolant additives. The radiator can be carefully cleaned of dirt and foreign particles by washing it out with low-pressure compressed air and water. Diesel fuel is subject to contamination and corrosion within a period of a year and therefore regular operation of the generator is necessary to use up the fuel before it degrades.

Regular maintenance

Your generator is the only means of keeping your factory running in the event of a power outage. To ensure that it will work when it is needed, the following steps should be followed:

Routine maintenance: this should take place as any faulty parts will be identified and then replaced.

Run it once a month to lubricate all working parts: a monthly run for five or ten minutes will lubricate all the moving parts and keep them in good order.

Change the fuel: this should preferably be changed every three to six months.
