This self excited automatic voltage regulator is manufactured in Taiwan. It is compact and extremely efficient. The purpose of this automatic voltage regulator is to regulate the voltage output of a brushless generator. It takes the fluctuating voltage level and turns it into a constant voltage level. Voltage levels can vary hugely and with so many machines relying on electronics this can be a problem. Electronics are very sensitive to voltage differences and will overheat if the voltage is too high or too low. The unit has a sensing voltage of between 190 and 264 VAC on single phase 2 wire and the frequency of either 50 or 60 Hertz is selectable on the unit. The output voltage is a maximum of 90 Volts DC at 207 Volts AC. It has a continuous current of 4 Amps with and intermittent 10 Amps for 10 seconds during start up. The resistance of the unit is 15 Ohms with unit power dissipation of a maximum of 12 Watts. The soft start ramp time is 2 seconds. The unit comes with factory set under frequency protection and quadrature droop input with a burden of 10 Ohms and a maximum input of 0.33 Amps. There is a parallel compensation for the unit when it is required to operate in parallel with an isolator or utility bus. In addition to the regular provisions a 10VA current transformer will be required. The various settings on the unit can be easily adjusted to enable correct stability, chosen frequency, voltage required, droop and trim by means of dedicated potentiometers.
