Description
The main purpose of a manual transfer switch is to be able to utilise two sources of power without having to rewire a building. Both sources of power are connected to the switch and when the mains power fails the generator is turned on and the switch is positioned to allow the generators power to flow through the wires. At the same time the manual transfer switch isolates the main line so that there can be no feedback current. This could be lethal for workers on the line as they expect it to be dead. The unit has been designed to be simple to install and use. The manual transfer switch needs to be installed in a protective panel to keep it out of the weather. There is an option available to have a window fitted to the panel so that the user can see whether the switch is on or off.
Technical specifications of the YES1-GP 1000AMP 4-POLE Automatic Changeover Switch
The conventional current rating of the unit is 1000 Amps. The automaticl transfer switch will work in temperatures of between -5 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius. I should not be used in an area where there are volatile chemicals or gases that are combustible. There is a large range of these units with sizes starting at 125 Amp and going up to 4000 Amp. The higher the Amps are the bigger the unit normally is. The electrician that installs the unit will choose it to suit the generator set that it will be attached to.
Benefits of using the YES1-GP 1000AMP 4-POLE Automatic Changeover Switch
This unit will make sure you are never without critical power no matter the time of day or night. This ATS can prioritise critical power systems and if it is too small to run the entire power system it can be directed to make sure that the important electrical systems are adequately supplied with power, for instance, lights, cooling and heating systems and essential equipment. Whether there is an operator on duty or not the automatic transfer switch will turn the generators on and transfer the power into the system and when power is resumed it will turn off the generator and change the power source.
